Responsibilities:

As an Excavation Equipment Operator with SALEM READY MIX , you’ll be at the helm of our machines, shaping the landscape and bringing our projects to life. Your responsibilities will include:
• Using excavators and other equipment to excavate, clear, move, load, and unload materials on job sites with precision and skill.
• Ensuring that all machinery is operating correctly and safely, conducting pre-operational checks and maintenance as needed.
• Consulting blueprints, designs, or drawings to understand the scope of work and execute tasks accordingly.
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
• Technical knowledge of how to properly operate excavation equipment and other machinery required for the job.
• Expert knowledge of the types of materials being moved, dug, loaded, or unloaded, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in every task.
• Excellent oral communication skills with a keen attention to detail, ensuring clear and effective communication on the job site.
• The ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and designs, translating them into actionable tasks.
• Understanding of pre-operational checks on equipment and maintenance procedures, coupled with a commitment to safety.
• Familiarity with all safety requirements for the job site, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and your team.

 

You’ll need the following qualifications to succeed in this roll:

• A high school diploma or GED, providing the foundation for your career in excavation.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience working with excavators or heavy equipment, demonstrating your expertise in the field.
• Experience working on construction sites is preferred, showcasing your familiarity with the fast-paced environment.
• Expertise in maintaining heavy machinery or excavators is a must, along with experience interpreting drawings, blueprints, or designs for projects.
